Description

I am looking to re-home my 3 year old male green iguana to someone who has experience in iguana care. His name is Vladimir and he is very healthy.

He has been on a steady diet of green leaves (kale, collard greens, swiss chard, turnip greens are among his favorites), veggies (peppers, broccoli, cucumbers, etc.), and small doses of fruits as an added snack (strawberries are his favorite!). He has been in a large enclosure, and has not free roamed a house yet, however everyday I take him out to climb around on my arms and back, and frequently bathe him in the tub (he loves this).

Vlad is still young, and is not entirely comfortable with people, however, he has never fought back at me when I reach in to hold him, and once he is out, he does crawl around and is very calm and happy. I'm sure that with more human interaction he will very soon be completely comfortable and tame.

I love him so much, and it is painful to see him go, however, I am in school right now and I feel that it would be best if he were to be in the care of someone who can be home every day, and give him the attention and love he deserves.

I understand that iguanas are very high maintenance, which is why I am looking for someone who has, or had iguanas for many years, and knows the type of environment, schedule, diet, and overall care an iguana needs to be healthy and happy. I would also like to view the home in which he will be staying, so that I can make sure his living arrangements will be suffice (large enough enclosure, proper environment for an iguana, etc.)

I am located in Baltimore, Maryland. I am willing to transport him if you are local (or within an hour drive from the city). I will not ship Vlad, only pick up, or my transportation.

I am only accepting cash at the time of the pick up, no checks, online transfers, or money orders. I want to minimize any technical issues with the payment.
